Our forbears include 'Blazing Aura,' and more recently my own "Aura Essentials" column. I liked that moniker, but it's no good clinging to the past ... so, something new was in order. I really wanted to use "Inside Aura," but claimants to similar nomenclature exist, so I just turned that on its' head. By this title, I do not mean to imply that I possess special knowledge, nor am I initiated into mystic rites forbidden to all but the "Aura Illuminati" ... no secret hand-shake, no dancing by the light of the moon, no decoder rings. I'm merely a journeyman (admittedly a persistent one) toiling away in the trenches, just like you. There are many, many competent and helpful Aura-philes, and even if you're not one now, you can become one (I don't know about you, but I never put much stock in self-proclaimed "geniuses" anyway!) Nope, I'm not "The Aura Insider." I want you to be. I want you to get your head under the hood, see what's making that whirring noise, and why steam comes out over there when you push things hard. I want you to see that, like it's illustrious sibling LightWave, Aura offers numerous ways of "lofting a feline." Explore, push, prod, and pry ... find a thing Aura can't do, then find a way to do it. Along the way, grow in understanding -- of Aura, and your craft. Steve Bowie, Sept. 2001
